Only Muslims know that Yajuj and Majuj is a barbaric races. King Zulqarnain built a solid wall to protect the civilized people from their evils. But many people have questions about the Yajuj and Majuj wall. Where is it? When was it made? How he made it, etc.
In this post, I discuss Yajuj and Majuj’s wall to satiate knowledge-hungry people. From here, you will get all your answers about this wall.
What is the Wall of Yajuj and Majuj?
Islam talks about a wall at the end of the earth to protect people from the destructive tribes of Yajuj and Majuj. That wall is known in Islam as the wall of Yajuj and Majuj. This wall has strong sources of Islamic pedagogy.
This wall was built by the pious ruler Zul-Qarnain in the Qur’anic verse. Before Judgment Day, they will enter the world through this supernatural wall.
Why the wall of Yajuj and Majuj?
King Zulqarnain built the walls of Yajuj and Majuj for two reasons. One is divine guidance. From the verses of the Holy Quran, we know that King Zulqarnain built the wall under the direction of Allah.
Another reason is that when he reached this part of the world, the inhabitants complained to him that there were some brutal races. They sometimes go out and run riot. So, they requested King Zulkarnain to build a wall to save them from this torture. As a result, he accepted their demands and built a wall there.
The wall of Yajuj and Majuj in the Qur’an
Allah Ta’ala says, ‘Finally, when he (King Dhul-Qarnain) reached the land between two mountains, he found a people who did not understand his words clearly. They said, ‘O Zulkarnain! Surely Yajuj and Majuj are causing trouble in the land, so shall we pay you some expenses so that you may build a wall between us and them?’ He said, ‘That which my Lord has given me is best.
So please help me with labour. I will build a strong wall between you and them.’
’ Then, when he turned it into fire, he said, ‘You give me some copper, I will pour it on it.’ Then, they could not pass over the wall or penetrate it below. He said, ‘This is the grace of my Lord. Then, when the promised time of my Lord comes, He will mix it with the earth.
And the promise of my Lord is true.’ (Surah: Kahf, verses: 93-98)
Another verse states, ‘At last when Yajuz and Majuz will be released, and they will come running from every high ground.’ (Surah: Ambiya, verse: 96)
Where is the wall of Yajuj and Majuj?
The exact location of the wall of Yajuz and Majuj is not clearly stated in the Qur’an-Hadith. Although the Qur’an al-Karim indicates that it is in the northern part of the world.
And since it is not necessary to know their specific position to understand the basic instructions of the Qur’an, and the lavish welfare of humanity is not dependent on learning it, there is no difficulty in not knowing it specifically, but overall belief in the words of Allah and the Messenger (PBUH) in this regard is sufficient.
However, some scholars have mentioned that it is behind China. Others claim that it is located in Georgia, at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains near Azar Baijan and Armenia.
Alusi – may Allah have mercy on him – said – perhaps the great waters have hidden the location of that place from us.
Many have claimed in the light of logic and ancient history – the region between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea –
Which is now known as South Ossetia (includes Georgia) and North Ossetia (as Russia). That place separates the borders of Yajuj and Majuzj. Because there is a mountain straight in the middle of these two seas – now known as “Darial Ghat.”
The Caspian Sea is on the right, and the Black Sea is on the left – the location marked in the middle is Darial Ghat. It is believed that Yajuj and Majuj were to the south of this mountain peak, and the Persians were to the north.
And the Persians could not understand the message very quickly. They were subjected to constant Yajuj Majuj violence and bloody attacks from the south(Wikipedia). King Zulkarnain is believed to have built his famous wall around this mountain peak.
Is the wall of Yazuj and Mazuj destroyed?
Yes, some say, the wall built by Zulkarnain has been destroyed. And Mongolian Tatars are Yajuj and Majuj. Some even consider the Russians to be their tribe.
But these opinions seem to be contrary to the description of the Qur’an and Hadith. Because the Yajuz-Majuz have come together in the Hadith to appear before the Day of Judgment. (Sahih Muslim: Hadith 2937)
However, if explained this way, it can be accepted that the Tatars and Russo-Chinese may be a part of the Yajuj and Majuj race. The amount that gradually mingled with the civilized world became civilized, and most of their tribes remained uncivilized, whose final appearance would be before the Resurrection.
Yajuj and Majuj wall, why did they not get geology?
Many people ask, if the wall of Zulkarnain exists, why do we not find it in this age of information technology when the world is at our fingertips?
In response, Ulamaye Keram writes that not finding someone is not proof of non-existence. Even in this modern age, new areas and human tribes are discovered in various mountainous terrains or sea islands, which the world has not known about for so long.
So maybe the wall of Zulkarnain is buried under a mountain, or their territory is covered by a large body of water or glaciers; we don’t know about it. They will appear at the appointed time of Allah before the Resurrection. It is not impossible. (Tafseer Ruhul Ma’ani: 8/359, Ma’areful Qur’an: 5/653)
