Is watching the movie haram? This is a question many siblings ask. Nowadays, information technology and social media, etc., are trendy.

That is why Hollywood-Bollywood movies are gaining popularity all over the world.

Allah has given a different way of life for the Muslim nation – utterly different from the way of life of the infidels.

That’s why it is normal for Muslims to ask, is it Halal or Haram to watch movies released in Hollywood-Bollywood or any other country?

Although many Muslims do not know the answer to this question, they watch these movies. They waste a large part of their time here.

We are writing this article today about – watching the movie Haram So that you can follow the path of Islam.

You can advance on the path of welfare in this life and liberation hereafter. I hope you benefit.

Is watching the movie haram?

No, overall, watching movies is not Haram. Watching movies is not Haram as long as it does not violate Islamic rules and regulations. But nowadays, most of movies are violating the instructions given by Islam. So these movies are forbidden.

Whether watching a movie is halal depends on the content of the video game or movie.

If there is anything in them that is unrealistic and contrary to the principles of Islam, then it is forbidden to watch it.

For example, it violates the rules of hijab. Singing, dancing, profanity, lewdness, etc. For these reasons, it will be Haram.

In this way, it will not be seen if there is something like extramarital activities of men and women, family problems of wife-mother-in-law-nana where they are slandering each other, or alienation.

In the name of science fiction, many things are shown that question the existence of God or that only God can do.

They contradict the description of the Quran and Hadith. Allah has forbidden them. Many show the use of witchcraft (Harry Potter), which is entirely heretical. These are also forbidden. Some movies teach the sixteen arts of crime, which is an essential part of the creation of Fitna.

Most importantly, they keep spinning in people’s heads and shake their faith. And wastes time.

Many will say we only watch them for entertainment. But entertainment is Haram, which the movie is overlooking Haram, and time is precious for a believer.

What is the evidence that watching movies is Haram?

  • Rasulullah (SAW) said: “Looking at a strange woman is not the duty of the eyes, speaking vulgar words is not the duty of the tongue, touching someone unlawfully is the duty of the hand… Then shame completes it or leaves it incomplete.”
  • Rasulullah – may Allah bless him and grant him peace – said, “No adulterer commits adultery while a believer in adultery. No thief steals while a believer. A drunkard does not drink while he is a believer, a robber does not plunder while he is a believer”. [Bukhari, Muslim and Abu Dawud]
  • Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “When a person commits adultery, faith leaves him, then it stays on his head like a shadow.” Then when he repents it, his faith returns to him again”. [Abu Dawud]
  • In another hadith by Hazrat Abu Huraira, Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam also said, “Whoever commits fornication or drinks alcohol, Allah takes away faith from him just as a man removes his clothes from his head.”
  • Allah declared obscenity as Haram in general and said, “Say, surely my Lord has forbidden all open and secret obscenities.” Elsewhere he says, “Do not go near to immorality, whether in public or secret.” (6: 151).
  • The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “Shyness is a branch of faith.” (Sahih Bukhari and Muslim). Shamelessness is, therefore, against faith. For that, it is not possible to be a believer in shamelessness. So a believer cannot be shameless.

Why is watching the movie haram?

There are many reasons behind the prohibition of watching movies, which is logical and beneficial for a healthy life.

We are mentioning a few reasons here. The movie promotes profanity. It settles in people’s hearts and disturbs their everyday life. Obscenity makes people socially dangerous.

The main driving force behind so many rapes and women scandals is watching pornographic movies and getting the behaviours of those movies fixed in people’s minds.

It drives people towards pornography. As it turns out, pornography becomes an addiction for him. In the end, there is a big problem in people’s lives.

Another reason is that movies show unacceptable things. – which is contrary to Muslim beliefs. Thus Family Crisis, song, dance.

Even if there is no obscenity, but a girl’s natural face is shown, it is still Haram.

I am watching the movie haram because showing women’s faces is forbidden in Islam.

Is it Haram to watch Turkish movies?

Here another question may come: nowadays, many movies based on Islamic history are being released in Turkey.

Such as Dirilis Ertugul, Kurulus Osman, Buyuk Seljuk etc. What is the position of Islam on seeing them?

We want to say firstly – these serials feature female actors. And it is forbidden to look at women’s faces at all times.

And many people think that history is distorted in all those series. Apart from that, there are more reasons to ban watching Turkish series.

But many Muslims say that for Hollywood-Bollywood addicts who can’t quit, it’s better to ignore Hollywood movies and watch Turkish films. At some point, they will be able to leave them.

Is it halal to watch Islamic movies?

What is an Islamic movie? If the film does not violate the Sharia principles of Islam. Then it must be halal to see it. I was watching the movie haram.

For example, you can see the ‘Umar Series.’ It is based on the biography of Caliph Umar Radiyallahu Anhu by some Arab directors.

Thus there is a series based on Tafseer of Surah Yusuf called the ‘Yusuf Series.’

Muslim scholars have two opinions on whether it is permissible to watch such Islamic series.

The first is that it is halal to watch such a series. Women show modesty.

Their clothes are decent, and their manners are all appropriate. So there is no difficulty in seeing it.

Again, many Muslim scholars say that watching these series is Haram. Because here, women show their faces.
