Can you read Quran during your period? Women have to follow certain rules during the period.
They can’t worship much even if they want to. In that sense, it is a misfortune for them.
Once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Women are imperfect in righteousness and knowledge.
The interpretation of this hadith says that women are less mature than men. Women can’t do as easily as men can unravel an impenetrable mystery.
And imperfection in righteousness means – they can not pray three to ten days per month. One cannot observe a complete fast in the month of Ramadan.
Other good deeds cannot continue throughout the month. Considering all these aspects, they are imperfect in knowledge and righteousness.
Is it necessary to abstain from all forms of worship during the period? Or can the Qur’an be recited or tasbih, Zikir, and doa etc. can be done?
This is an important question. So in today’s blog, we are discussing – can you read Quran on your period. Hopefully, it will be beneficial for everyone.
Can you read Quran during your period?
There is disagreement among the Imams as to whether you can recite the Holy Qur’an during your period.
Maliki jurists think that you can recite the Holy Quran during the period. However, the condition is that the Mashaf of the Qur’an cannot be touched.
Some jurists think that you can recite the Qur’an in three stages during the period.
One – for the purpose of Jikir and prayer. Two – for the purpose of teaching. Three – If there is a risk of forgetting as a result of not reading.
They said as a reference to their opinion, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,
‘Menstruating women and impure people cannot read anything in the Qur’an. (Tirmidhi Sharif)
From there they narrate the three Surats discussed as exceptions. Because the meaning of reciting the Qur’an does not exist in these three suras.
Thus, if you recite the Holy Qur’an during your period without touching the Mashaf, it is not Haram. For example, reciting a memorized surah or reciting it when someone else opens the Qur’an in front of him.
The above hadith is mentioned by Muhaddisinin Keram as a weak hadith. The period is compared to the Junubi person.
But this comparison is not correct. Because the impurity of a Junbi person lasts for a short time. When he takes a bath, he becomes pure. But the period lasts for a long time.
Can you listen Quran during your period?
Almighty Allah has commanded us to listen and read the Qur’an attentively. You may be wondering if it is permissible for a menstruating woman to listen to the Qur’an.
The answer is – yes, it is permissible for you to recite the Qur’an during menstruation. It is also legal for him to read it. This is because menstruation and the postpartum period can be long-lasting.
There is no evidence in the Holy Qur’an or the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that it is not lawful for a menstruating woman to listen to the Qur’an.
Reading Quran on phone?
Can read Quran by looking at mobile. There is no problem with this. Because the Qur’an we see on mobile is not a month.
Similarly, he can recite the Qur’an by touching the Mashaf using any cover on his hand. Such as hand socks or gloves etc. This is the opinion of a number of scholars.
Similarly, if the verses of the Holy Quran are mixed with the writing of another book. Such as Tafsir Kitab, Fiqh Kitab, etc. then there is no difficulty in reading from there.
Because at that time the verses will be included in that book. Of course, the words and sentences in that book must be more than the verses.
