what is the Muslim religion?

Islam is a monotheistic religion. The main point of Islam is – ‘There is no creator except Allah and Muhammad – peace be upon him – is the servant of Allah and the last prophet.

God has sent many prophets and messengers and heavenly books to guide mankind through the ages.

The main scripture in Islam is the Holy Quran. The words of the Qur’an are believed to be the word of God Himself.

And the words, deeds, and tacit consent of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are called Sunnah.

Islam is the only system of complete life acceptable to Allah. Islam is a universal religion. And Islam is not just for Mecca-Medina or the Arab countries.

Rather, Islam is sent to all castes, tribes, nations, and people of the world, rich and poor, black and white, and Arab and non-Arab.

Innumerable prophets and messengers have come from age to age with the message of Islam. Among them, Adam, Abraham, Moses, Isa – Alaihimus Salam – are particularly notable.

Islam teaches the Last Judgment where the righteous will be rewarded with Paradise and the sinners will be punished in Hell.

When was Islam founded?

Islam originated in Makkah in the early 7th century, and by the 8th century, the Umayyad caliphate had spread over a vast area from Iberia (Spain) in the west to the Indus River in the east.

The 7th to 13th centuries are traditionally recorded as the Islamic Golden Age.

During the Abbasid Caliphate, the Muslim world was at the forefront of scientific, economic, and cultural development.

The spread of Islam took place mainly through preaching and conquest.

The conquests took place by separate empires, such as the Ottoman Empire, and the conversions took place through Islamic preaching, not by force.

How old is Islam?

The Islamic calendar begins after the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) migrated from Makkah to Madinah.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) preached Islam in Makkah for 13 years before migrating to Medina.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began to receive divine word from Allaah when he was forty years old.

At present, the age of Islam is 1456 years. During this long period, Islam has come and gone through various ups and downs.

Muslim religion rules

There are clear rules of Islam in every aspect of life. Islam is the name of observing it. I am discussing a few rules myself.

Farz: Some provisions in Islam are known as Farz. Such as prayers, fasting, Hajj, and Zakat. It is vital to observe it.

Whoever neglects his duty will have to answer to Allah in the Hereafter. For this, he will have to suffer punishment.

Sunnah: Again some provisions are known as circumcision. Sunnah is the deeds that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did voluntarily.

Circumcision is again of two types. Sunnat Muakkada. And Sunnat Ghair Muakkada. The Sunnah Mu’aqqada is – the optional act that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) always did.

And the circumcision is Ghair Muakkadah which he used to do and then give up.

There is no sin if circumcision is not observed. There is no need to be held accountable in the hereafter. However, if circumcision is performed, the chances of getting the reward in virtue and marked increase to a greater extent.

Haram: Haram is all acts that are forbidden in Islam. Such as drinking alcohol. Commit adultery. Killing people etc.

Muslim religion history

After a Companion named Dahiyatul Kalbi became a Muslim, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told him –

God has forgiven all your sins. Dahiyatul Kalbi shed tears and said – ‘O Messenger of Allah, all sins can be forgiven but one sin will not be forgiven by me.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Have you committed such a heinous sin? Which God will not forgive?

This time Dahiyatul Kalbi started weeping profusely. Wiping away the tears, he said, “O Allah’s Apostle, my wife was pregnant when I went on tour.”

When I left, I told him that if a girl was born, she would be buried alive. But my wife’s fondness for the child raised him.

I came home four years after the tour and saw a girl calling me Daddy Daddy. I asked the wife. Who is this girl? The wife replied in fear, “This girl is your daughter.”

I started threatening my wife about why she didn’t bury this girl alive when she was young. She says, “Husband, look at how beautiful Allah has made you.”

God has made your daughter as beautiful as you. That’s why I named her Jamila.

Muslim religion

How can I bury such a beautiful Woman alive? At night when I went to sleep in bed.

I fell in love with Jamila. I started thinking about such a beautiful girl. How can I bury him alive?

But in a moment, I woke up to find out what I would say to my friends in society. They will make fun of me.

Ah, I have become the father of hatred. Then I decided in my mind that tomorrow morning I would dig a hole in the hillside and bury my daughter alive.

I got up in the morning and told my wife to bathe Jamila and give her something to eat. I will go with Jamila.

My wife puts a new deposit for bathing her daughter and puts two Lokma Khanas in her mouth like Janam. I left with the girl.

I went to the far side of the hill and started digging holes. While digging the hole, small pieces of soil stuck to my beard.

Jamila stands beside me and cleans her beard with her own hands and repeatedly says, Dad, what is this hole? Who are you making this hole for?

I told Jamila to go away and play. I said to myself, after a while, you will understand what a hole it is.

When the hole was done I called ‘Jamila to see what can be seen inside the hole. The girl called me Abbu Abbu, ran from a distance, came to the side of the hole, and said, “Abbu, can you see inside the hole?”

The situation in pre-Islamic Arabia

At that moment, I pushed Jamila from behind and threw her into the hole. When I keep pressing the stones and soil around the hole.

As Jamila looked at me, I kept telling my mother when my father would come.

I was always anxious to take a look at you and call you Dad once.

Dad, don’t kill me like this. Mother will not be able to bear it. Leave me one day and I will not call you father.

I will never show you my face. Don’t kill me. Jamila raised her hands from the hole and cried loudly and said a father is not a cruel father like you in this world. I left without hearing anything.

O Messenger of Allah, even if Allah forgives all sins, He will not forgive these sins. Even today, I hear the call of Jamila’s father every night to save me.

Then the Messenger of Allah ((peace be upon him)) said, “O Dahiyatul Kalbi, listen, you were a disbeliever on the day you committed this unjust sin.”

You have committed this sin without realizing it. Today, when you have become a Muslim, you have read the Qur’an, you have become my companion, and you have taken refuge under the cool shade of Islam.

Allah Almighty has forgiven you for such great wrongdoing. Since you read. “La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah.”

In the Qur’an, Allah says that everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

This incident gives an account of the social conditions in Arabia before the advent of Islam.

How cruel was the social system of that time? But Islam removed that situation and built a peaceful society.

How to convert to the Muslim religion?

To convert to Islam, one must first be interested in Islam. If there is disinterest in Islam in the mind, there is no benefit in accepting Islam.

Then the holy Kalima of martyrdom has to be recited. The blackness of martyrdom is –

Pronunciation: Al la-ilaha illallahu wahdahu la-sharikalahu washadu anna muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu

Translation: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah. He is One, Unique and I further testify that Muhammad – peace is upon him – is the servant and messenger of Allah.
