Can we touch our private parts in Islam? Our private parts are quite delicate. On the one hand, if it is published in public, it is quite embarrassing.

These organs cannot be expressed in public. Similarly, husband and wife have no choice but to strip naked to perform in bed.

No one can see anyone’s private parts if they want to. Can’t touch it. It is not supposed in Islam.

On the other hand, touching the genitals directly with the hand breaks the Ozu according to the opinion of many Islamic scholars. When semen comes out through the private parts, bathing becomes obligatory.

All in all, our genitals have a special feature. For this reason, Islam has given some special provisions for these organs.

Due to which the questions related to the private parts revolve in our heads. Our minds want to know something about this.

Can we touch our private parts in Islam?

We can touch our private parts. Islam does not forbid it. It is not haram or sinful.

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he said:

مَا أُبَالِي أَنْفِي مَسَسْتُ َْوْ ذُذُنِي أَوْ ذَكَرِي “

Translation: I don’t care to touch my nose or ears or penis.

Qaboos narrates from his father,

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was once asked about a person who touches his private parts.

He replied – there is no problem. (Musannafu Ibn Abi Shaybah – 1/165)

Huzaifa – Radiyallahu Anhu said,

‘I don’t care if I’m touching the private parts or touching the edge of the nose. (Kanzul Ummal – 9/306)

The prominent Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not consider it a sin to touch the genitals.

Among them, Ali ibn Abu Talib, Ibn Mas’ud, Huzaifa, Imran ibn Husain, and others are especially notable.

However, it is quite shameful to touch or eat the private parts in public. It is the opposite of good character.

Can couples touch each other’s private parts?

Couples have no difficulty touching each other’s private parts. It belongs to the romance of husband and wife.

They will arouse their sexual desire by touching and weaving hands on each other’s sexually appealing organs.

It is a common way for husband and wife to have sex. Through this sexual arousal increases in the legs.

This is considered foreplay. Islam does not forbid foreplay. Rather, it encouraged them to do so.

In the Holy Quran, Allah Ta’ala says,

Translation: Your wives are your crops. So move about in your fields as you wish. (Baqara – 223)

This verse gives unrestricted freedom for husband and wife to have sexual intercourse. They can have all kinds of sex.

It is haram to have anal sex and during the period. Thus it is haram in ihram and fasting.

As such, husband and wife can see each other’s private parts. Be able to touch and kiss. There is no sin in it.

Ibn Abidin said in his book Raddul Muhtar,

Imam Abu Yusuf asked his teacher Abu Hanifa about a man who touched his wife’s private parts and his wife also touched his private parts. Is it a sin?

In response, Imam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “No, it is not a sin.” I hope they get good because of it.

Qazi ibn al-Arabi said,

There are two opinions on whether a man can see his wife’s private parts. One view is that it is permissible.

Ashbaugh said

It is lawful for a husband to suck his wife’s private parts. Then Asbagh was told that people consider it Makrooh.

In response, he said, it may be that someone is saying it as a medical formula. Not as a Shariah provision. It is not Makrooh in Islam.

Does touching the private parts break the Ozu?

It is a big question of whether touching the private parts break the Ozu. There is a strong difference of opinion among the scholars about this.

Many of the Companions, the Imams, the Mujtahids, and the Salaf have said that ablution is ruined by touching the genitals.

Again, a large group of Sahaba Karam, Aimma Mujtahidin, and Salafe Salihin have said that ablution is not ruined by touching the private parts.

However, from the point of view of the document, it is a strong and simple opinion for the Ummah – the touch of the private parts does not ruin the ablution.

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he said:

Translation: I don’t care to touch my nose or ears or penis.

Qaboos (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father,

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was once asked about a person who touches his private parts.

He replied – there is no problem. (Musannafu Ibn Abi Shaybah – 1/165)

They meant that just as touching the ears or nose does not spoil the ablution, so touching the private parts does not spoil the ablution.

What is the provision of touching the private parts while fasting?

Anyone who is fasting, woman or thick, can touch her private parts. Whether it is for any need, such as cutting public hair or bathing or taking a bath without need.

But if he ejaculates by masturbating or touching any other private parts, his fast will be broken.

Because of this, he will be considered as a poet cowherd. Then he will have to pay the Kaza and Kaffara of Ramadan.

Therefore, if a person’s sexual power is weak, he will refrain from it if he fears that his private parts will be ejaculated by moving them.

Similarly, if a husband and wife touch each other’s private parts while fasting, it is also valid. But it has its limits.

They cannot touch each other’s genitals in a way that causes ejaculation. Or fingers inserted inside the genitals.

Husband or wife ejaculates or inserts a finger in the private parts, but the fast of the one whose ejaculation has taken place or whose finger has been inserted will be broken.
